Ramona Martinez, JD, is an attorney with extensive experience in government, litigation, and public policy. She most recently served as General Counsel for the New Mexico Office of the State Auditor and previously served as Deputy General Counsel for the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department. Earlier in her career, Ramona owned the Law Office of Martinez-Salopek, where she practiced criminal defense, civil, contract, and family law.
Raised in rural Tierra Amarilla, Ramona earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She has held leadership roles with the New Mexico Border Authority, the New Mexico Sentencing Commission, and the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association. In 2022, she received the Contract Defender Award recognizing her significant impact advocating for indigent clients in New Mexico.
