Mercadez Montano

Mercadez grew up in Tome, a village in Valencia County. Her rural upbringing provided insight into the challenges faced by underserved communities. This perspective continues to guide her work as she supports Con Alma’s mission to strengthen the health journeys of rural communities across New Mexico. She brings more than seven years of experience in financial management, having previously served as Accounting Director at a local community-based nonprofit. Mercadez is a detail-oriented and mission-driven professional with expertise in fund accounting, grant reporting, budgeting, and compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and federal and state grant guidelines. She has a proven record of strengthening financial systems, enhancing transparency, and ensuring accountability to stakeholders. In her role as Operations & Finance Manager, Mercadez is responsible for overseeing the organization’s internal financial and daily operations. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Mercadez enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and animals, traveling, and visiting with friends and loved ones.
