  • The MISSION of Con Alma Health Foundation is :
    • to address the particular health needs of traditionally underserved populations, including low-income individuals, people of color, youth and residents of rural areas;
    • to support and strengthen nonprofit organizations that seek to improve the health of underserved populations;
    • to recognize and encourage leaders who are working to increase health and wellness within their communities; and
    • Influencing health policy - to inform the development of public policies that promote wellness and enhance access to preventive health care.

  • GRANT MAKING &ndash Grantmaking Priorities
    • "Closing the Health Disparity Gap in New Mexico: A Roadmap for Grantmaking."
    • Focuses broadly in the areas of health and human services with special emphasis on culturally diverse, rural and tribal communities.
    • Priority consideration is given to
      • proposals that demonstrate strong collaborative relationships,
      • have multiple funding sources and a plan for sustainability and
      • address systemic change rather than direct services.

  • 2007 GRANT AWARDS
    • In 2007 Con Alma Health Foundation received 117 Letters of Intent for its Target Grant funded 32 Target Grants. We also received 118 applications for its Small Grants and we funded 11 Small Grants.
    • In 2007 the total amount funded (for Target & Small Grants was $1.75 million (compared to the total requests of nearly $8.6 million).

  • FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
    • Con Alma's primary grant cycles are the Target, Small and Multi-year Systemic Grants. Additionally, Con Alma Health Foundation and the Hospital Auxiliary for Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC), work together as the Northern New Mexico Health Grant Group (NNMHGG). This grant cycle awards grants to eligible nonprofits that target the populations traditionally served by LAMC (Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and northern Santa Fe Counties).
